Hello everyone and welcome back to Redking gaming! Sorry for the lack of activity recently, I had school and such whatnot, though I am back now with a review.
Today I will be reviewing one of my favourite games of all time: Minecraft. I may be a few years late with this but hey, what can I do about that. I will be splitting my reviews up into a few sections: story, gameplay, graphics, notes, and rating. Now that I’ve got that out of the way, let’s start the review!
Minecraft has no story other than what you create. And that’s one of its draws, at least for me. You can be anything from the savior of humanity, to its destroyer. You can create a sci-fi world where you’re leading a resistance against alien overlords or a fantasy world where you’re slaying the undead creations of a necromancer living in another dimension. Though there is an optional quest to kill the ender dragon that can’t really be counted as a story.
In Minecraft you run around an endless world fighting monsters, crafting items, building, trading with non-player characters. For an extra challenge you can build a nether portal to do all of the above in a hellish landscape. There are three ways to play Minecraft the way I see it: multiplayer, whether goofing around with friends on a server of your own or playing on one of the popular minigame/survival servers this one’s for people who love company. There’s singleplayer survival for those of us who love a challenge, or creative where you can unleash your creativity or just mess around all of these are a truly unique experience
Though many people say the graphics are horrible, I say they aren’t half bad. The blocky, pixelated art style is charming in its own way. And you can always change it up with resource packs which change the appearance and sound of the game.
As for notes, well these are all the reasons this is my favourite game of all time. For one when playing I can do anything I want. It’s designed around creativity and exploration. Another thing, it can be a very social experience, with servers and LAN worlds I can enjoy this game with all my friends. Because of all this and more I give Minecraft a rating of 10/10.
Hope to see all of you again soon.
